Office Information

Regular Office Hours

Our office is open and fully staffed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except Fridays when we close at 4 pm). We are available in the office by phone from 8:30 am-11:30 am and from 1 pm-4:30 pm (except Fridays when we turn the phones off at 4 pm).  An answering service handles phone calls outside our regular phone hours, and an on call physician is always available.

 

How We Schedule Appointments

Meet the Doctor: Office appointments to meet our physicians and our staff are encouraged and provided at no charge. 

 

If your child is sick: Each day we reserve approximately half of our appointment slots to ensure that any child who needs to be seen in the office will be seen that day. 

 

Well Visits: For children under 2 years, we follow the schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics: 1 Week, 1 Month, 2 Month, 4 Month, 6 Month, 9 Month, 12 Month, 15 Month, 18 Month, and 2 Year.  Beginning with your child’s 3^rd birthday, we recommend a yearly visit.  In order to provide a comprehensive exam and to address those questions that are most important to you, we ask you to fill out certain questionnaires in advance of your appointment, which can be downloaded from this website.

 

After Hours Care

Children do not get sick on schedule, which means that you will sometimes need medical advice or treatment outside our regular office hours.  If it is a medical emergency that requires immediate attention, call 911.  Otherwise, you should always call the office at 734-475-4500 and follow the instructions on the answering machine.  Sometimes, Dr. Moore or Dr. Aronow will remain available after hours and can be reached by pager.  When one of our physicians is not available, the answering machine will instruct you to call our automated answering service.  You will be instructed to leave a call back number and the nurse triage system will be paged.  Your call will be returned by a nurse, and you will be referred to an on-call physician if needed.  A physician is on call for our practice 24 hours/day 7days/week. 

 

Hospital Affiliations

Dr. Moore and Dr Aronow have admitting privileges at CS Mott’s Children’s Hospital at the University of Michigan and St Joseph Mercy Hospital.  If your child is admitted to one of these hospitals, our physicians will follow your child’s care during the hospital stay.  Dr Moore is also affiliated with Chelsea Community Hospital.

 

Financial Policy

Payment is to be made at the time services are rendered, unless arrangements have been approved in advance by our staff. This reduces billing costs, which helps us hold down the cost of medical care for you. For your convenience we do accept cash, checks, MasterCard, or Visa. When credit is extended, you will receive a statement once a month. We request full payment within 30 days. Returned checks will be subject to an additional fee of $10.00 per check. We know emergencies arise and cannot be helped. Please communicate these to us, and we will try to work out something that is beneficial to everyone.
 

Insurance

The office staff will gladly help you with your insurance coverage; however, it is your responsibility to understand your insurance policy.  Because policies are so different, even those from the same company, we will not know the details of your insurance coverage. On your first visit, tell us what coverage you have. If you change insurance companies or join another employer's plan, please be sure to let us know
